ReactNike engineers have come up with a more sober version of the Element 55, which is derived from the 87. It keeps the same lines but adopts a more traditional opaque mesh base. The translucent sole is replaced by a classic sole. Finally, the Swoosh brand has taken on a more futuristic dimension with the React ISPA, an ultra-innovative ankle-high model created by a sub-division of Nike designers.
Spotted at Paris Fashion Week, the React 87 has entered the fashion world through the front door. The very famous Japanese designer, Jun Takahashi, founder of the label Undercover is once again revisiting a Nike model. This collaboration consists of a pack of 4 unique colours: volt, green mist, lakeside and light beige. The "UNDERCOVER Jun Takahashi" logo is inlaid on the transparent cage of the pair, and the Nike branding React on the tongue. But the pair's appeal lies in its technical approach with 3M reflective detailing on the laces, eyelets and back strap. There is also a more recent collaboration with the famous rapper Kendric Lamar. The California rapper revisits the Nike React 55 in a beautiful marbled grey colourway. The Nike React has made a name for itself in the streetwear and sneaker scene.
